Job Overview: As a key member of the Information Technology (IT) management team, this position is responsible for all aspects of providing oversight, coordination and operational delivery of all clinical applications for The Christ Hospital Health Network (TCHHN). This leadership role analyzes requirements from business process owners, translates requirements into software modifications or configuration changes and manages the delivery of application services and activities of application specialists supporting the applications.
The Clinical Applications Manager will drive the oversight and coordination of all clinical support processes to enable the IT vision and strategy for TCHHN; initiate and manage the analysis, design, improvement, and implementation of processes necessary for the development of reliable, dependable products and services that support the business; assist with IT roadmap development and change coordination of the IT infrastructure for outsourcing versus in-house provisioning of IT services. This role will establish relationships with key outsourcing representatives, including clinical engineering, to ensure the efficient operation of the outsourcing companies’ delivery commitments; act as a technology agent to assist with the prioritization and delivery of business solutions.
The Clinical Applications Manager may perform the following duties:

•Working knowledge of clinical and ancillary functions including, but not limited to Results, Orders, Clinical Documentation, Barcoding and Med Charting, E-mar and Pharmacy, Scheduling, ADT, EMPI, Registration, HIM, Billing / Collections, Cardiology, Lab, Radiology, PACS, ICU, Oncology and Surgery. Epic experience strongly preferred.
•Demonstrates ability to think outside the boundaries of IT and avoid a "technology-for-technology’s-sake" approach to strategy.
•Comprehensive understanding of application development lifecycles, project management, technology infrastructure and related issues.
•Thorough knowledge of multi-platform processing; including but not limited to: network components, distributed systems, storage area networks, security, asset configurations, applications and databases.
•Performs other duties as necessary or assigned by the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and IT Senior Management.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, information systems or related discipline.
Experience: Five (5) to seven (7) years experience managing complex clinical applications in a similar-sized provider environment.
Experience with complex, application outsourcing, and associated regulatory issues common to the health care services industry.
