SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) is seeking a new Chief Information Officer that will create a best in class, IT division. The new CIO will be joining the organization during a positive growth mode, and will lead the IT department to be more strategic and innovative in alignment with the strategic plan. SEARHC is highly committed and has made a significant investment in its IT infrastructure over the past several years, including its recent implementation of Cerner EHR. The Chief Information Officer will be a key member of the consortium, providing overall leadership for the information technology function across the System. The CIO will work closely with the System COO, Senior management, and other leaders in the organization to translate strategic priorities into information technology initiatives that will promote the continued pursuit of the organization’s mission.
SEARHC is a progressive, non-profit health consortium headquartered in Juneau and provides healthcare in 27 Southeast Alaskan communities. In addition to numerous outpatient clinics, it operates the 25-bed Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital, which provides acute care, critical care, obstetrics, surgery, and perioperative care to the community of Sitka as well as others in Southeast Alaska. Considered one of the fastest growing health systems in the state of Alaska, SEARHC’s revenues have doubled in the past five years.
A bachelor’s degree in Network Systems, Information Systems or a closely related field is required and a master’s degree is highly preferred. Ten years of progressive information technology management experience including five years of management experience in a hospital or multi-site health system is ideal. A track record of building a successful, innovative, customer focused IT enterprise in organizations that have been consistently ahead of the curve in their adoption of best practices technology is highly preferred.
