Permanent/FTE Opportunity!

  • Ensure IT standards are maintained across the enterprise
  • Work as part of an on-call rotation which includes a 24x7 support for the organization.
  • Identify and meet SLA requirements for networks and applications
  • Gather and analyze user needs and requirements in accordance with IT processes
  • Be familiar with emerging technology
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff members, customers, and vendors
  • Develop, provide and maintain necessary documentation for all applications and systems
  • Manage monitoring applications using related monitoring tools; proactively address anomalies
  • Maintain Datacenter Infrastructure, Security, and Maintenance in a multi-hospital environment
  • Recommend development of system plans for operation and growth
  • Contribute technical leadership, deep technical skills, and industry experience and best practices to a motivated Windows Technologies team driving change
  • Integrate acquisitions into existing server and network infrastructure

Architect Emphasis

  • Windows networking and IP based services, including DNS and DHCP
  • Utilize software and hardware diagnostic tools to identify, diagnose and repair complex problems and factors affecting network performance
  • Develop network documentation, including diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures, and work instructions for peers to follow
  • Able to design, support, maintain and troubleshoot a wireless environment both public and private access.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain all networking and servers equipment to produce the highest available uptime
  • Integrate acquisitions into existing network infrastructure
  • Design, implement, configure, and monitor firewalls, IDS, and VPN connections.
  • Designing, developing, installing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting LAN and WAN
  • Architect and configure voice network and data networks.
  • Implement & train staff on network monitoring tools and best practices.
  • Establish NOC (Network Operations Center).
  • Configure and support Cisco Routers and Switches.
  • Perform security, performance and availability assessments.
  • Recommend network infrastructure naming conventions.
  • Diagram and maintain network documentation.
  • Design and implement redundancy.
  • Adhere to change control, standard operating procedures and IT defined processes.

Systems Emphasis

  • Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy environment
  • E-mail systems including Exchange environments
  • Patch Management, Software Distribution, and Client Imaging
  • Anti-virus and SPAM prevention and management
  • Work with multiple operating systems; multiple LANs; patch management; OS migration

Telephony Emphasis

  • Develop, maintain, and document the systems site codes and dial plans
  • Maintain, deploy, and troubleshoot T38 and G711 SIP faxing
  • Assist in the design and implementation of emerging VOIP systems and interact with various parties involved to ensure VOIP solutions meet and/or exceed expectations
  • Conduct initial testing on new voice products, features, software and accessories. Introduce them to the organization if deemed necessary
  • Install newly purchased equipment including single-line, multi-line, common equipment and VOIP solutions
  • Consult with Information Systems group, various vendors, departments and/or staff regarding communications system design or features
  • Make necessary changes within the varying system platforms
  • Keep abreast of the latest technology and recommend upgrades and/or repair of software and equipment accordingly
  • Diagnose system problems for referral to appropriate vendor
  • Work closely with Information Systems group to design, coordinate and implement VOIP technology and wireless solutions
  • Move existing telephone equipment to include telephone instruments, wall jacks, wiring, connection boxes and control units
  • Repair telephone system equipment not under a maintenance agreement
  • Diagnose system problems for referral to appropriate vendor
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for new equipment as approved by the IT Manager Technical Support
  • Prepare equipment price quotes as requested by the IT Manager Technical Support
  • Provide training to staff on feature usage
  • Coordinate outside telephone vendor work
  • Maintain complete records on telephone system including numbers and type of trunk, station number assignments, cable pair assignment, work orders, purchase orders and equipment vendor catalogs
  • Provide switchboard with updated systems information as necessary (e.g.: new numbers placed in service)
  • Order wiring and other telephone supplies as required Maintain a neat and orderly telephone equipment room and supply inventory
  • Assists IT Manager Technical Support in preparing written reports and proposals for new equipment/software as related to the telephone system

Must haves 

  • A relevant, current Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare or EMC technical certification is required
  • Bachelor Degree in related field
  • 5-10 years of network engineering experience
  • 2 plus years in network design and architecture
  • WAN and LAN experience
  • Knowledge of Cisco equipment
  • Experience with VPN, VLAN and VOIP
  • Experience in a Microsoft-centric eco-system
