About the Position
As a Business Intelligence Consultant for Qualifacts, you will work with customer focus groups to ensure BI needs are met as part of a platform adoption or conversion. The BI Consultant will analyze and implement business intelligence solutions for the client’s end users, and be responsible for ensuring that reports and analytics can be uniformly understood by the client and those who support the client. This role is engaged in multiple projects and ensures that each initiative is supported by a reporting and analytics platform. You also coordinate with developers, directing their efforts to reach organizational goals in a timely manner. You will be part of a strong team that has great collaboration and teamwork, and also interacts with a variety of business professionals, and communicates critical project requirements within the organization. Primary Duties
  • Lead and collaborate with client end users and technical experts to ensure that data visualizations and reports meet their business needs
  • Design and monitor end-user reporting tools and systems, ensuring reports are accurate and up-to-date
  • Condense large data sets into clear and concise observations and recommendations including reports, dashboards and visualization paradigms
  • Design advanced conceptual, logical, and physical data organizations, models, repositories, dashboards, and reports within a complete functional and technical architecture
  • Support and enhance the business intelligence data backend, including data platforms
  • Collaborate and provide technical guidance for design and implementation of data storage and governance systems
  • Map configurations and complex data architectures, ensuring documentation meets current and forecast needs
  • Partners with Data architects, senior BI peers, and infrastructure and software experts to define metadata layers, technical strategy and optimal integration within the existing client IT landscape
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Business Analysis or equivalent
  • 5+ years' demonstrated experience working as a Business Analyst within Information Technology
  • 3+ years’ experience with implementing and supporting business intelligence/analytics solutions
  • Advanced and demonstrated knowledge of data architecture concepts, data structures, querying and data sourcing
  • 3+ years' demonstrated experience with Client facing professional services including contract and statement of work definition, discovery calls, and contract execution to deliver BI solutions
  • Experience working with large data sets; experience with distributed computing tools (e.g. Hadoop, ETL, Talend, Hive, Spark) and other emerging technologies
  • Experience with Big Data platforms and data warehousing
  • Demonstrated experience with data visualization tools (e.g. BIRST, Tableau, Power BI, Yellowfin, Logi)
  • Data Modeling experience using ERD tools
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience managing data validations and exception reporting
  • Able to communicate effectively with the client’s technical experts
  • Able to work independently and with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor/Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering or science discipline, including coursework in Business Intelligence or data architecture
  • One or more of the following certifications: CBIP, CBAP, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, TOGAF
  • 7+ years' demonstrated experience working as a Business Analyst within Information Technology
  • 4+ years' experience with implementing and supporting business intelligence/analytics solutions
  • Demonstrated experience establishing new data practices
  • Demonstrated experience in translating data trends to management and senior executives
  • Experience with predictive analytics, Machine Learning, and/or decision science
