Children's Medical Center is private, not-for-profit, and is one of the largest pediatric healthcare providers in the nation. As the only academic healthcare facility in North Texas dedicated exclusively to the comprehensive care of children from birth to age 18, Children's provides patient care ranging from simple eye exams to specialized treatment in areas such as heart disease, hematology-oncology and cystic fibrosis. In addition, Children's is a major pediatric kidney, liver, intestine, heart and bone marrow transplant center. As the primary pediatric teaching facility for The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, the medical staff at Children's conducts research that is instrumental in developing treatments, therapies, and greater understanding of pediatric diseases.The Children's system is licensed for 559 beds and has more than 50 subspecialty programs. The Dallas hospital was the first designated Level I trauma center for pediatrics in Texas. To better serve the region's growing pediatric population, the 72-bed Children's Medical Center at Legacy opened in 2008 in Plano, Texas.

Children's is accredited by the Joint Commission, and is a Magnet designated facility, the highest national recognition granted to a hospital or medical center for nursing excellence. In addition, both U.S.News & World Report and Child magazine have named Children's as one of the nation's top pediatric providers, and in 2006, the Dallas Business Journal recognized Children's as a "Best Place to Work." Children's offers a comprehensive benefits program with the flexibility to let you choose those benefits that best meet your needs.Medical/Vision Coverage
An optional benefit that provides medical, vision and prescription drug coverage. Children's pays the majority of this benefit, and your share is deducted from your paycheck on a pretax basis.
Dental Coverage
An optional benefit that provides two dental plans to choose from, offering varying levels of cost, coverage and services. Children's pays the majority of this benefit, and your share is deducted from your paycheck on a pretax basis.
Short-Term Disability (STD)
An optional benefit that provides 60% of your base compensation. Premiums are age-based and deducted on an after-tax basis. This benefit will be paid on a weekly basis, for up to 24 weeks if medically necessary.
Basic Long-Term Disability (LTD)
Provides at no cost to benefit-eligible employees a core LTD benefit equal to 50% of their base compensation. Benefits are payable until age 65 or death, whichever comes first if medically necessary.
Optional LTD
An optional LTD benefit equal to 10% of your base compensation. This supplemental LTD premium is age-based and deducted on an after-tax basis. Benefits are payable until age 65 or death, whichever comes first, if medically necessary.
Basic Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
Children's provides coverage equal to 1 X your annual base compensation.
Supplemental Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
An optional benefit that affords financial protection for you and your eligible family members in the event of accidental death or dismemberment. Paid by employee; deducted from your paycheck on a pretax basis. Five options are offered, ranging from no supplemental coverage to 4 X your annual salary up to a maximum of $1.2 million.
Basic Term Life Insurance Coverage
Children's provides coverage equal to 1 X your annual base compensation.
Supplemental Term Life Insurance Coverage
Five options are offered, ranging from 1 to 4 X your annual salary up to a maximum of $1.2 million. Premiums are age-based and deducted on a pre-tax basis. Five options are offered, ranging from no supplemental coverage to 4 X your annual salary up to a maximum of $1.2 million.
Spouse Life Insurance Coverage
Benefit is available up to 50% of your employee life insurance coverage amount. Spouse life insurance coverage above $25,000 will require evidence of insurability. You will be notified if evidence of insurability is required. Premiums are age-based and deducted on an after-tax basis.
Child Life Insurance Coverage
Optional life insurance for your child or children in the amount of $10,000 per child. If you choose this coverage, you are automatically the beneficiary for this life insurance. Premiums are age-based and deducted on an after-tax basis.
Health Care Spending Account (HCSA)
An optional benefit that allows you to set aside up to $10,000 per year for out-of-pocket health care expenses through a pretax payroll deduction. Paid by employee.
Dependent Care Spending Account (DCSA)
An optional benefit that allows you to set aside up to $4,000 per calendar year through a pretax payroll deduction to pay for dependent care expenses. Paid by employee. The company will match 25 cents per dollar contributed up to the first $4,000 you contribute.
Leave of Absence Program
Provides time off with or without pay for regular, full-time or part-time eligible employees for their own serious health condition or injury. Can also be used to care for eligible family members with a serious health condition or to bond with a newborn or newly placed adopted or foster child. Eligible employees may take up to 12 weeks of time off during a rolling 12-month period, measured backward from the date leave begins.
The Asthma Management Program
Benefit for employees whose children have been diagnosed with asthma. It is designed to provide in-home asthma education in conjunction with the primary care physicians' management plan. Expenses associated with program are covered under children's health plan. Find out more
Tax Deferred Savings 403(b) Plan
This voluntary plan allows pre-tax contributions. Funds (13 different Investment Funds are available) range from conservative to aggressive. Participants may contribute up to $15,000 of pay. You may participate in the plan as soon as you are employed.
Children's Savings 401(a) Plan
Children's contributes 25 cents per dollar contributed by eligible 403(b) participants up to 4 percent of base pay. You are vested, or own, these match amounts after three years of employment and at least 1,000 hours worked per employment year.
Bereavement Leave
Employees are eligible for up to three days of pay for the funeral of a spouse, parent, child, sister or brother, grandparent, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandchild, or step-relation. Jury Duty Employees are eligible for time off for jury duty as of date of hire.
Educational Assistance
A percent of university state rate tuition costs for job-related courses is reimbursed for full-time or part-time employees. Specialty exams are also considered.
Professional Certification Reimbursement
This benefit is designed to reimburse the cost of preparation courses, review courses and exams for professional certifications listed on the HR Site.
Bridging of Prior Service
Previous regular full-time and part-time employees who return to work on a regular full-time or part-time basis will receive credit for their prior service for purposes of determining eligibility for PTO benefits.
Employee Assistance Program
Provides confidential consultations, information and referrals for you and your eligible family members experiencing personal difficulties or concerns. It includes up to five face-to-face counseling sessions per year. Paid by Children's.
Investing for College
A 529 College Savings Plan allows you to save for college expenses using an investment account similar to a Retirement Account. This plan can be set up for your children, grandchildren, spouse or yourself.
Referral Bonus
Employees are eligible for a Referral Bonus if the referred person is hired.
Smart Card
This is a debit card that can be used at any of our meal facilities for your convenience.
Recreational Services
Discount tickets to movie theaters and seasonal events such as the State Fair, Six Flags, etc. are available for employees to purchase from the cashier.
Meal Facilities
20 percent discount off on cafeteria meals is offered with proper Children's identification.
Drug Discount
A reduced cost for over-the-counter and prescription medications is available for employees, spouses and dependent children. Employees receive a 20 percent discount off on items not covered by insurance.
DART Passes
Employees are eligible for annual ePasses from DART for $36/ year as of date of hire.
Community Empower
This benefit is designed to assist employees to improve their financial situation.
Weight Watchers
100 percent reimbursement after completion of the 12-week-program. This benefit may be available to spouses of employees.
