Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central and Southern New Jersey, Inc. (PPNCSNJ) provides comprehensive reproductive and sexual health care, abortion services, education and information to women, men and teens at 17 health centers throughout 18 counties in New Jersey.

 

Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey (PPAFNJ) is the advocacy arm for the Planned Parenthood affiliates in NJ.  We advocate for access to essential healthcare through education, activism, voter engagement, grassroots organizing, and legislative advocacy. This position serves as an employee of PPNCSNJ and along with other public affairs staff, works on behalf of PPAFNJ - the state policy office. 

 

Has advanced knowledge of project methodology, NextGen EPM & EHR, and system development lifecycle and works under the direct supervision and performs tasks as assigned. Configures, tests, documents, implements, and supports NextGen application systems by coordinating with vendor representatives, system users, project team members, coworkers, and management. Participates in project teams, configuration, implementation, ongoing maintenance, and support for all NextGen application systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:





            
  • Works as a member of a team of internal resources and external vendors to configure and implement NextGen EPM & EHR

  •         
  • Assists with all aspects of the agency’s use of NextGen EPM & EHR including process mapping, software design and configuration, system testing, training development, conversion planning, and site-by-site implementation

  •         
  • Escalate NextGen issues and manage tickets 

  •         
  • Facilitate regular meetings to discuss updates, upgrades, system issues, etc. 

  •         
  • Sampling and documenting discrepancies in system functionality 

  •         
  • Preparing recommendations for process improvement opportunities

  •         
  • Maintain NextGen File Maintenance to utilize the system most effectively -evaluate reporting tool capabilities, create custom reports when needed 

  •         
  • Works closely with physicians, center managers, medical assistants, and others in our user community

  •         
  • Develops high-quality documentation such as system requirements, design specifications, user training plans, user guides, etc.

  •         
  • Works closely with technical and non-technical staff to gather requirements

  •         
  • Coordinates and documents business and technical presentations

  •         
  • Serves as NextGen EPM & EHR technical subject matter expert on projects and trains users and others throughout the organization

  •         
  • Performs other duties as assigned




Requirements:


            
  • 3+ years of NextGen software experience and/or NextGen certification.

  •         
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Operations Management, or related area preferred.

  •         
  • Minimum three to five (3-5) years related IT/NextGen/EHR experience within a healthcare environment required.

  •         
  • Must be able to travel to the Northern, Central, and Southern Health Centers throughout New Jersey.
